Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees | Comic Review

We were at a comic book store when I saw the cover for Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees. An anthropomorphic bear dragging a bloody sack in a cutesy art style? I knew I needed to see more.

Samantha is a serial killer who lives in a small town. HOWEVER, she only goes into the nearby big city to make her kills, because she doesn’t want that drama too close to home. Then, there’s a murder in her small town. The cops investigating close to home is not good for Samantha.

Patrick Horvath did the story and the art in this book, and I just have to say bravo. I loved this book. The art style contrasts with the content in such a fun way. Samantha IS cute. Samantha looks sweet. Samantha also murders people.

The twists in the story were well done, and I didn’t see many of them coming. In fact, I was very surprised on multiple occasions. 

I can’t wait to read the second collection. Soon!
