Offenbar wurde in letzter Zeit der Vorsitz der #UNGeneralversammlung *immer* an Ex-Außenminister:innen vergeben. Hier stand aber niemand Betreffendes zur Verfügung. Wohl deshalb stand stattdessen die renommierte Diplomatin #HelgaSchmid zur Diskussion. Durch die Neuwahl aber änderte sich die Situation plötzlich: Außenministerin #Baerbock wurde frei und steht für den Posten zur Verfügung.

I agree, but as I said part of the issue (to me at least) is #patriachy; the world of work is imagined to be a male norm into which women (and other carers) must fit... indeed, moreover, to demonstrate other priorities (& thus need flexibility) in the macho world of management is seen as a lack of commitment... -
