Dungeons of Dredmor (2011) - A fun and silly casual roguelike dungeoncrawling game
The main theme somehow popped into my head recently and I retried the game.
This time, I tried an geologist with egyptian magic, fighting unarmed. (other favorites are the werediggle curse, Mathemagic and necronomiconomics. )
It’s been a while since I last played and I don’t think I ever got far.I also discovered a bunch of new things which I’ve never seen on my playthroughs before (new updates, or maybe just bad luck in the past) Pocket dimensions and Secret wizard dimensions that can only be accessed by finding their names (and remembering them!)
Everything feels silly like drinking beer to restore mana, using an ingot press to make omelettes from diggle eggs, drinking from fountains with mystery liquids, vandalising statues of the dungeon lord to level up.
But at the same time it’s very easy to adjust the game to suit your taste.
The difficulty level is adjustable, Permadeath is an option, plus there is an option for slower floors with the same amount of experience (to reduce grinding if you have less time to play) + Modding support.Overall a great small title that I enjoyed playing again after so many years.

Race to Git Gud continues.
Progress made, lessons learned, and a few completely avoidable deaths along the way. Slowly getting better — or at least more stubborn.
New entry up on WOTS.

Not counting emulation, I "own" over 2,700 games on PC & various consoles. I use Grouvee to keep track of them to (hopefully) prevent me buying repeats of what I already own.
https://www.grouvee.com/user/73634-RxBrad/shelves/
Most games are tagged as "Backlog" or "Played". Here's how I file the games I'll either never play, or never finish...

Since the Oblivion uses the old engine for everything bu graphics and it doesn't run well on the steam deck, I just decided to play the original Oblivion with a mod that gives it controller support. I am pretty happy with it and I saved $50.

I’m watching the TV show House with my wife and I just noticed that the opening credits animations and song look and sound a lot like Metroid Prime. They even came out around the same time.
Not the US intro song, Netflix is giving me some other countries intro.

Just finished The Outer Worlds, and it was everything I needed!
It reminded me so much of Arcanum <3
At every moment in the game, I was thinking about all the others ways I could have done each step, and how the outcome would have been different. There is so many choices, and many options depends on how you've built you character.
Also, I really love the ending which (like Arcanum), summarize everything you've done, and gives you the consequences of your actions for the future of the colony. It's wonderful and It really make you an actor of the story.
Now, I only want to start over and make another completely different character :D

Welp, fell down the rabbit hole of cleaning out old keys from game bundles ahead of next month's batch of giveaways.
I easily added 100 keys to the "to give away" pile, and activated something like 40 games.
I really need to be better at keeping up with this stuff.

I never buy any games now until they're under a tenner.
The irony of that is I will willing spend £30-60 on #TTRPG books instead :D

Maybe I'm in denial but yesterday I broke and bought #BaldursGate3.
Now hear me out, I like #PatientGaming because I don't want to encourage game studios who put out broken games and hide functionality behind DLC. #BG3 doesn't do this, if I want other #gaming studios to follow suit, then I should reward the ones that put the customer first.
It's good to have #principles, and better to stick with them, but you need to know why you have them, and be willing to bend when the necessary.

@vsp I am a follower in the way of #patientgaming... and things I'm hearing from friends about #BaldursGate3 are testing my resolve. Usually I wait until several updates have been released and the game is on sale, I'm hoping I can hold out on this one. My large #gaming backlog should help.
