@zigi_now9 My son sometimes laughs when stressed. For myself I tend to shut down and zone out, so my expression tends to go more flat than usual.
If I have to fake smiles intentionally, it’s just long enough to flee dangerous allistic situations, including work. I include in “dangerous” situations where expressing honestly would be labeled “bad.”

I started watching #theaword yesterday on #DisneyPlus and it seems nice. It’s a series about an #autistic boy and his family.
I haven’t checked if the actor is #actuallyautistic and obviously warning for #pathologizing so beware.

That said I‘m incredibly happy that content about us gets out there because peeps still think we cant talk of something.

it does more harm than good to prop up the myth of the ‘neurotypical’ who completes tasks cheerfully with no issues. this #person is a #capitalist #fantasy. the more you define yourself in comparison to this myth the more you justify #social #structures staying the same with minor accommodations to the ‘exceptions’ and the continued #pathologizing of discomfort under #hostile #conditions

@actuallyautistic Well I got a reply from school today. Director reports that staff have met, and will be taking better care to better contextualize and avoid #pathologizing my son’s behavior. Promise made. Promise kept? Time will tell.
His 1:1 started yesterday. Observing for low but will probably start working with him next week. 🤞🤞🙏

Son’s been getting easily #escalated at #school and problem #behaviors returning rapidly. Expecting another #rejection in form of #placement #referral. Got #meds appt with #hmo and hope to #moderate the escalations (#anxiety, #stress). I pray it’s enough, because even the happy and supposedly helpful #NPS has gone straight to #pathologizing behavior and not talking about causes. #actuallyautistic @actuallyautistic
