I've been doing computer stuff instead of making art, so I'll just post an older artwork here today. It's a water spirit made in pastel pencils on blue paper.

Mirada y Gafas.
Gaze & glasses. Pastel pencil with chalk. His face looks surprised—or perhaps sorrowful. Sometimes it’s necessary to take off the glasses and look without them, to truly see.

Pretty happy with how this came out. Might specialize in reinforced concrete ruins just for funsies…

For any #artist out there using #PastelPencil or maybe regular #pastel, what are you using to fix your image? I tried my normal spray fix that I use for colored pencils (Krylon Matte Finish) and it sort of wrecked the art. It seems like Krylon Workable Fixatif is what I should use, but the Stabilo CarbOthello chalk pastel pencils seem like they're not normal pastels. Help, anybody?

On #PastelPencil sharpening duty as I'm doing another #AstronomySketching workshop at a home education camp tomorrow. Hoping for some clear patches so we can look at the live view through the #telescope, because the #Moon's phase tomorrow is absolutely perfect for crater & mountain sketching 🥰 #AstronomyDrawing #AstronomyOutreach
