My thinking is they exercised their collective powers, showing us:

1/ They can ignore professional advice & solutions

2/ They can make us do silly things / change @normal life, scare us unnecessarily for perhaps what wasn't as big as they stated or for #old people mainly.

3/ We were forced / made ilegal to go places without #COVID #passport, #food #grocery #places #travel etc

Iincreasingly the demand is to use paperwork, ID, SIM card (say mid-level) to buy. #Passports sometimes to verify yourself.

Even without some, the other people are using those middle-men so you have much less people to work / create with (what Mastodon needs to answer).

People get "more options" provided by bad people in a bad #circular #economy that's #growing a #negative #alliance.

@mf_analysis I always have a bit of an issue with these rankings because they are so simplistic, only looking at whether a visa is required to pass a border for a visit.

They completely neglect other benefits such as ability to do work in said country, or live, or own property.

But for many a #passport does represent an identity or high lever of one, Biometrics now used for them and increasingly #banking etc linking the two even more.

If you don't have one you can't travel far and do many things sometimes act like they need it (there are some other ways).

#Lisbon airport continues to be a shitshow I guess. We were in outbound passport control for an hour, which I guess is a lot less than it could have been. Airport staff were full-on yelling at people trying to cut through lines, stress levels were high.

I'd avoid Lisbon airport until they sort this #ees mess out. 🤷

As a Canadian I'm still baffled by outbound #passport control in #EU. Nothing about it seems efficient.

Brit and in Europe this summer? Leave an extra hour for #passport control. This was #Ljubljana today, a full 50 minute scrum.

I am trying to renew my passport before I have to fly to Florida this summer. I’ve been on hold with their help line for 10 minutes. I have a meeting 70 minutes from now. Do you think I will still be on hold when the meeting starts?
