Il 7 giugno 2026, l’Armenia ha scelto.
Il Contratto Civile di Nikol Pashinyan ha ottenuto quasi il 50% dei voti, superando nettamente il principale blocco filorusso. Non è solo un risultato elettorale: è un atto di sovranità politica.
Il voto era anche un giudizio sulla direzione presa negli ultimi anni: rafforzare i legami con l’Unione Europea, prendere le distanze dall’influenza russa e provare a costruire una pace stabile con l’Azerbaigian dopo decenni di guerra.
Mosca ha fatto pressioni, anche evocando lo “scenario ucraino” contro l’avvicinamento europeo dell’Armenia.
Ma il popolo armeno non ha ceduto.Questo voto manda un segnale che l’Unione Europea deve saper leggere: la sovranità si difende anche nelle urne.

"I informed the president of this country [Vladimir Putin] about this during my visit to Russia in April," he told reporters. Pashinyan gave the reason for the decision as the need to participate in the election campaign ahead of Armenia's National Assembly elections scheduled for June 7. "

Previously, Armenia actually froze membership in the CSTO and ceased to participate in the bloc’s activities, including joint military exercises.
