Ylihuomenna torstaina 19.2. kylätalolla korjataan, tuunataan ja uudistetaan vanhaa, esimerkiksi vaatteita tai lasten leluja, klo 18-19.30.

Ota mukaan rikkinäisiä tavaroita ja mahdollisuuksien mukaan välineitä niiden korjaamiseen. Talon puolesta paikalla on ainakin lankaa sukkien parsimiseen ja ompeluvälineitä muille vaatteille.

I try to take care of and invisibly and visibly mend my clothing so it would last in use as long as possible. This practice took a whole new step as I tonight started experimenting with how I could mend some regular cotton socks.

I have a pile of old, more or less worn down socks that have been waiting for me to try to figure out how they could be fixed. This first experiment is reinforcing a spot which does not yet have a hole with some sewing thread.

This is very time consuming but also kinda satisfying. But already now I'm learning that it would definitely be worth it to do it when there is just a smaller area in need of reinforcement.
