  1. Some great work from an A/Prof Liz Caldon on predicting #PARP inhibition response in #cancer

  2. Unrepaired base excision repair #BER intermediates trigger #replication fork collapse and #PARP inhibitor sensitivity when present in template DNA strands, rather than in nascent strands behind forks – find Keith Caldecott, Steve Jackson, Nicolas Hoch and colleagues

  3. When stressed or infected, plants modify proteins by #ADP-ribosylation. But how are these signal interpreted? New data from the Kangasjärvi lab shows that transcriptional co-regulator RCD1 binds to poly-ADP-ribose chains and might act as a PAR 'reader'. #PTM #PARP #plantscience t.ly/HHyP

  4. Did anyone else from team #ADPribosylation #PARP arrive on mastodon yet??
Following them on the birdapp is the only reason I haven't deleted my account yet...

  5. Dr Eileen O’Reilly at #MSK ordered germline & somatic testing soon after Jay’s diagnosis with #PancreaticCancer, years before it was an #ASCO guideline. He was found to have a gBRCA1 mutation - targetable by #PARP inhibitor #olaparib - allowing a welcome chemo break. So grateful for the eight years we had post-diagnosis.

Hi, I am Matthew and currently work on #ovarian #cancer with a focus on therapy predictive mutations, genomic scarring biomarkers, and mechanisms of resistance to #PARP inhibitors.
Currently this is involving lots of #FunctionalGenomics with #MAVE assays and #DMS (#DeepMutationalScanning) to dissect protein complex interactions with inhibitors.
I mainly do #ComputationalBiology and supervise a team that does the wet work.
