@DoomsdaysCW @MaQuest The big blue book of bicycle repair (https://www.parktool.com/en-us/product/big-blue-book-of-bicycle-repair-4th-edition-bbb-4) came with my #ParkTool repair kit. Like their videos (by the unsurpassable Calvin Jones): very clear, general but detailed guidance and tips on all sorts of repairs. Kind of like Haynes for bicycles, but less brand specific.

I changed my own bicycle chain and sprockets!! And cleaned and regreased the derailleur wheels while they were accessible too!! Very proud of myself.

their Youtube channel?

My bike turns about 12 this year. Time for some updates: new tires, new pedals and new brake pads!
Fun tip: NEVER unscrew anything you don't absolutely need to. Especially not if it is involved in some spring mechanism and not even mentioned in the Blue Book of Bicycle Repair.
(anyway: everything working again. Learned something about the spring loaded bowels of that caliper today.)

New bike tool day. This time it’s for facing disc brake mounts.

The Park Tool DT-5.2 is a lovely piece of equipment. But, it simply shouldn’t be needed. Frame manufacturers ought to be ashamed of not finishing their products properly. Yes, I’m looking at you this time #Trek, but you’re far from alone.

For those of a cycling-persuasion, you will probably appreciate more that I’m starting with a beer that requires my two favourite bike tools. A #Campagnolo corkscrew and a #ParkTool bottle opener. The Lindemans beer has both a cap and a cork.
