Sie schießen überall in der Neustadt wie hölzerne Pilze aus den Pflastersteinen und geben dem Straßenbild etwas Organisches zurück: sogenannte Parklets, also Terrassen, die Gastronomiebetrieben als Außenbereich dienen und dafür die direkt davorliegenden Parkplätze als Fläche nutzen.T

@JamesGleick These chargers are common here (Belgium), indeed. Sometimes on the pavement (👎🏻) sometimes on the parking spot itself (👍🏻).
But downside to not concentrate chargers in e-stations, is that these (‘parking’) spaces cannot be permanently/temporarily used for more social purposes, like ‘parklets’. This too is a movement that’s gaining strength in Europe.
The struggle for the public domain (here the curbside) goes on.
