  1. I spent most of the weekend photographing the Parkland Institute's 29th annual fall conference. This year's theme was Democracy Under Siege: Strengthening the Safeguards. The overall theme was the rise of autocracy and misinformation, and how this is causing democracy to crumble. I particularly enjoyed sessions dealing with education and media, and how both can be used to counter the growing authoritarian threat.
