  1. Speaking of the #N3B #parka (in Finnish: pilottiparka, not the same as the smaller jacket), it’s worth reminding people that if you are buying one you are almost certain to be buying a copy. Including the pricier ‘Alpha Industries’ thing. Made in the Far East and does not match the military spec (if you’re interested I can give you the details).

Up to you whether those things matter, but you’re not getting the true American icon.

  2. The #m65 fishtail #parka has to be one of the greatest coats ever made. I don’t mean the less substantial m65 field jacket, and I definitely don’t mean the H&M quality level copies (in Finnish, #maihinnousutakki). The original. Roomy, warm (designed for frigid Korean War conditions), versatile (can be worn with or without the warm liner, or the huge hood, which also has a removable liner), very wind resistant (can even be attached round your legs). Think of the ubiquitous N3B but longer.

  3. Saw this in the "Care" instructions for some clothing (a parka), after all the precautions about washing, it talks about drying:

    > Tumble dry low. Do not hang to dry. Do not iron or steam. Do not dry clean.
    > For best results, dry with clean tennis ball.

Is this an easter egg or other joke? What on earth does "dry with a tennis ball" do?
