  4. Parenting hack: I just learned this with a 13 yr old and a new tween. But first a story…
Way back in the 90’s 🙊 at a grocery store in my little town, I was an early teen with a younger mom.

Picture it, mid 90s odd mash up of angsty music (arguably the last great generation of music), pre boy band but the rise of clueless + puberty, definitely past 16 candles. Walking down some grocery store aisle, my mom and I are talking about music (likely me talking about Dre and her talking about Chapman) and she dropped “thats da bomb”. In that moment all time stopped and I all of sudden became grammatically correct and refused any turn of the century slang. Urban dictionary? No thanks! If my mom uses it, it’s not cool.

And there it is, my parenting advice. Want them to speak with normal hubris? Use their slang in every day conversations.

My teenybopper just dropped some “valley girl vocab” and I shut it down in the most “lets connect” way, her speech is now impeccable.

  9. 📌 Monday Morning Struggles?
📍Mondays can be tough for kids (and adults! 😅) After a fun weekend, getting back into the routine isn’t easy.
✅ Start the routine on Sunday night – Regular bedtime = easier mornings! 🌙
✅ Give a "countdown" to Monday – Talk about what’s coming up at school. 📅
✅ Create a Monday morning "fun moment" – A special breakfast or a favorite song can make waking up exciting!
