#Republican's #ParentsBillofRights also makes #schools a more hostile place for #transgender & #LGBTQ students, outing kids to parents & limit which bathrooms they can use.
Most of all, it's a political stunt. The #GOP knows it won't pass the Senate. What it does is show conservative parents & voters that they "care" about #education & parental rights. It sets a narative that "woke" liberals are trying to endocrine & groom our nations youth...by telling them the truth.

#ParentsBillofRights is example of #Republican's #CultureWar. This #legislation would let a singular parent object to any teacher's lesson plan. What would they object to? Any mention of evolution, the big bang, slavery, Jim Crow laws, genocide, gender, or anything not heterosexual? It also provides a legal pathway for #censorship and banning books.

I can't believe #BrianFitzpatrick voted yea to #ParentsBillOfRights Act, and that #MattGaetz voted no. Rep. Fitzpatrick is one of the few remaining moderates of the #Republican Party - and in many cases voted with Dems, from abortion, gun rights, to Equality Act.
The act heads to #Senate, where it would probably fail. Even if Sen. Manchin flips his vote, it would be vetoed anyway.
