CW: Spoilers for Parasyte: The Grey, episode 1
So it's pretty good so far. The effects are sufficiently creepy and better than I was expecting, although not what I'd call great. The acting is really good (for the most part), and I'm enjoying it. It's not the same story as the manga, and I'm happy about that.
However…
In the manga and anime this is based on, the Parasyte that attacks the MC takes over his hand, and can talk directly to him. Another "mutant" Parasyte latched on to a guy's neck, and could likewise communicate.
In this, it's taken over like half her head or something. It can only come out briefly, and can't communicate directly with the MC.
This is… not the decision I would have made, and I don't understand why it's done this way.
Don't get me wrong, I'm into this and I'm gonna keep watching, I just feel like, especially with fewer episodes to establish their symbiosis, adding a communication barrier was a bad choice. #Parasyte #Netflx -
