In my experience, ND to ND doesn't have the "embarrassing hassle for both", except for when both are performing the neurotypical coded bullshit.
When I feel I'm dealing with a fellow neurospicy1 person, I've made it a personal goal to show myself as much as possible. This usually works well for both parties, because it gives me and the other the confirmation we're okay being ourselves.
1 ) They are giving away A Train Thing on the Fedi, chances are about 100%. :flan_wink:

I’ve been playing #Cyberpunk2077 since noon yesterday minus about 6 hours of sleep…
I haven’t been into a game this much in a LONG time! 🎮
Aaand it’s made even better by the fact that @deb is on the bed next to me playing her game and we occasionally look up from what we’re doing to show each other we’re still here and care.
I couldn’t be happier!

Today I would like to recommend inviting a friend over for parallel play. I do my thing, you do your thing, we bask in each other's presence! 10/10 would go again, plus I made progress on my FTH fic and am actually on track to finish it before the year is out.
