Why I really want #Seafile to work for me
- A lot of users report that Seafile sync is significantly faster than #Nextcloud, especially for large libraries.
- I genuinely like Seafile’s extended properties (metadata) feature — it feels more structured and usable compared to Nextcloud.
- Unlike #PaperlessNGX / #Papra, I can directly edit Office files, which makes it more than just a document archive.
I’m really hoping this setup works out, because on paper it checks all the right boxes for my workflow.

I'll start with a recent project called #Papra which I love for its simplicity and nice UI. It's a document archiving solution, which keeps it simple, but still provides:
- a nicely executed tagging system
- auto-ingestion of documents by watching a folder
- ingestion of email attachments via the twin project #owlrelay by the same author
- in-page document preview
- API and webhooks triggered upon creation, modification... -
Papra kann man als schlanke Variante von Paperless-ngx sehen.
Die Entwicklung geht in großen Schritten voran: Text in Bildern, RTF, LibreOffice-/MS-Office-Dokumente usw. werden erkannt.
Nun werden auf Wunsch die Dokumente verschlüsselt gespeichert, so dass niemand etwas mit dem puren Datenträger anfangen kann (At-Rest-Encryption).

.. y me da nuevo material para estudiar.Instalar administradores de documentos como #PAPRA (https://github.com/papra-hq/papra) es practicamente en segundos.

I want to love #Papra, but in its current state, I can’t. I need support for custom fields, which the developer says is in the works. Until then, I’ll stick with #PaperlessNGX.
