  1. Big shout out to my man Jeff. I've been meaning to look into other e-readers for ages. Now, as the owner and regular user of an OG Kindle Paperwhite, I've been given the push I need!

Fediverse, what e-readers are you rocking? I'm in the market for a new one.

Love the size of the Paperwhite, and while I will not shop at the Kindle store again, the ability to read my old (Amazon) ebooks would be nice (but not dealbreaking).

  2. Picked up a cheap #Amazon #Kindle #Paperwhite 11th gen (2021) from #Woot. Already have a 2018 and 2019. The 2021 is noticeably faster with page refreshes and graphic clarity and has USB-C which is awesome.

Been reading #ebooks since the days of my #Sony #Clié (2002) and will never pick up a paper book again - unless it’s a coffee-table art book. Ebooks are one of the biggest game changers of my life. #ebook #reader

  3. @fsf #Kindle #paperwhite reminds me a bit of Microsoft's gadgets: excellent hardware, craptastic software.

At least with the tablet-based kindles you load something like the uber-customizable #FBreader

  4. Wanting to get back into reading, so I charged up my #kindle #paperwhite and have been adding #books to it over the last few days.

Currently re-reading (for about the 5th or 6th time) Another Roadside Attraction by #TomRobbins. I’ve also downloaded most of the rest of his books and will be rereading those soon, too.

I’ve got Daisy Jones and the Six by #TaylorJenkinsReid, Lessons in Chemistry by #BonnieGarmus, and All the Light We Cannot See by #AnthonyDoerr.

My reading tastes are a bit all over the place, and I’m never sure what I may or may not like. But if you’ve any #recommendations for books you think are particularly good, I’m all ears!
