New European study found that 90% of so-called #ecofriendly #paperstraws contain #foreverchemicals compounds that don’t or barely break down & can accumulate in our bodies, leading to health problems. Paper straws suck usability-wise and accessibility-wise, but at least they're good for the environment, right? Right?...

Wrong.

Turns out, they contain PFAS, which are known as "forever chemicals", meaning they break down very slowly over time. That means that paper straws are potentially not biodegradable. Steel straws were the only ones where PFAS were not detected.
