Has really nobody tried to integrate a machine learning based #classification system into #Nextcloud #Flow? I guess the common solution is to use #paperless_ngx and figure out some fitting approach to bridge the two.

In my case I am hoping to get more files moved to appropriate folders and with relevant tags inside Nextcloud. This seams to require setting paperless own dir to write into Nextcloud's data dir and then running an occ scan via cron. Workable but somehow clunky.

Ich bin ja von #Portainer auf #Dockhand umgestiegen und dort gibt es die Möglichkeit, die Images auf Schadcode zu scannen. Der Scan von #Paperless_ngx ergab, dass dort 570 Vulnerabilities gefunden wurden, davon 44 kritische.
Wie geht man nun damit um?
Paperless sofort einstampfen?
Wie gefährlich sind solche Vulnerabilities?

gibt es hier #paperlessngx Nutzer/Admins? Habe #Paperless über Proxmox auf einem Rechner laufen, möchte aber die gescannten abgelegten Dokumente aus Backupgründen auf einem NAS im Netzwerk ablegen lassen. jemand eine Idee wie ich das hinbekomme?

Erster guter Vorsatz für 2026? Check!

Nach dem Wechsel meines privaten Notebooks auf #ubuntu letztes Jahr stand nun der nächste Schritt an: mehr digitale Autonomie und Open-Source-Lösungen.

Der erste Meilenstein: ein #proxmox VE Cluster mit zwei gebrauchten Dell Optiplex Micro-PCs. Nach einigen Schreckmomenten und mit LLM-Unterstützung läuft das nun stabil.

Als erste Anwendung ist #paperless_ngx produktiv im Einsatz. Ein Traum! Ziel ist, alle privaten Dokumente automatisiert zu verwalten.

It really is surprising sometimes how #homelab services grow....and I just want to emphasize that it's silly to think that you'll be the exception.

Prior to doing my big holiday cleanup of scattered docker containers being moved over to first class, fully automated #proxmox #k3s VM nodes, and #kubernetes services being managed by #ansible and #argocd, I thought for sure I knew exactly how many services I would be running.

I also felt confident that I didn't need anything more than that.

Low and behold, the old adage holds true.

Tonight I was working on my deployment of #netbox (https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox) and I realized that it uses #Postgres under the hood.

No big deal. I've got a Postgres instance already running in the cluster.....except that I wrongly made the assumption that #paperless_ngx would be the only consumer, and I turned off the superuser.

Still no big deal....except that I'm deploying everything via GitOps as much as possible, AND I've already got live, important data in Postgres.

*long sigh*

So...now I get to go do some manual surgery on users and databases to make it be a proper cluster wide, multi-tenant service, I'll make the gitops side of it look pretty later.

And that's when I realized that keeping an instance of #pgadmin around would be super useful going forward.

I was, in no way, planning on running a PgAdmin instance, but here we are.

Well...guess what? I'm also running Mongo, InfluxDB, and Redis.

Thankfully, Influx ships with a WebUI...but if I'm already adding pgAdmin, then there's no sense skipping #Mongo Compass and #Redis Insight.

And that's officially 3 more unexpected services to deploy in a single night.

So, letzte sinnvolle Tat des Jahres vollbracht: paperless-ngx auf die neuste Version hochgehievt. Baremetal, aber mit uv und dem inzwischen vorhandenen uv.lock keine Ärgernisse mehr mit fehlenden/fehlerhaften Python-Paket-Abhängigkeiten. 😊

Klingt so, als ob du ein handisches paperless bist. ;)

Das macht auch OCR, sortiert es dann in die Verzeichnisstruktur und findet dann alles wieder.

Verzeichnisstrukturen sehen bei mir aktuell so aus:
Telefondienstleister/{{ correspondent }}/{{created}}_-_{{title}}_-_{{original_name}}

Also grobe Kategorie (wobei das reduntant ist, die fraglichen Korrespondenten eindeutig zu "Telefondienstleister" zuordenbar sind),

von wem kam es,

welches Datum steht im Dokument,

wie habe ich es manuell benannt,

wie hieß es ursprünglich?

Letzteres ist beim Scanner nur ein timestamp aber bei digitalen Originalen halt deren Dateinamen.

Das tolle an #paperless_ngx ist, dass ich die Verzeichnisnamen-Generierung verändern kann und er sortiert und benennt immer wieder korrekt um.

Ich kann das echt empfehlen.

So isses. Scannen ist schneller als Katalogisieren.

Paginierstempel habe ich auch überlegt, aber Papier geht bei uns einfach in den Shredder. Die wenigen Sachen zum Behalten kommen der Reihe nach in einen Karton. Das ist ja weniger als eins im Quartal.

#paperless_ngx erkennt halt den Korrespondenten, das Datum und den Dokumenttyp recht treffgenau. Bei den 500+ Lohnbelegen hat das nach einer Weile echt verdammt viel abgenommen.

Ich benenne vieles nicht um. Nur Sachen, die ich wohl öfter wiederfinden will oder wo der Inhalt schwer über die Volltextsucher zu treffen ist.
Verträge, die wichtige Rechnung weil Wiederverkaufswert, das sentimentale (Rechnung zum Hochzeitsanzug).

Ich denke, dass Korrespondent und Datum für 90 % aller Volltextsuchen zur schnellen Identifikation ausreichen. #paperless_ngx hat eine wahnsinnig schnelle Blätterfunktion. Unter'm Strich ist das sicher zeitsparender bei unseren seltenen Blicken ins Archiv.

paperless ngx kann bereits jetzt lokale KI. Das wäre noch genauer. :)

@atarifrosch Mit dem geliehenen Profiscanner für 60 Euro eine Woche lang ging das echt gut. Der hat nur in ein Netzlaufwerk hochgeladen, dort konsumierte #paperless_ngx

Am meisten nervten die Heftklammern!
Und gefaltete A3-Bögen. Die habe ich aufgeschnitten und als A4 gefüttert.

Ich muss allerdings noch nacharbeiten, da ich beim Scannen im Block mehrere Dokumente gemeinsam eingelegt habe. Das ist mit paperless-ngx tatsächlich recht einfach später machbar. (schneller als das am Papierstapel zu machen).

Es ist unschön aber manchmal muss man der Wahrheit ins Auge sehen. Manche OpenSource-Software ist leider nicht allzu ausgereift. Es gibt spektakulär gute Projekte (z.B. #paperless_ngx ) und dann gibt es Sachen, die einfach auf basalem Level nicht funktionieren ( #erpnext ).
Ich habe es jetzt ein paar Tage getestet, und wenn da nicht mal der Import von Kontoauszügen halbwegs fehlerfrei ist, ist das sehr enttäuschen. Das ganze Projekt hat leider extrem viele Bugs 😕

Anyone running #PaperlessNGX #rootless using #Podman and #PodmanCompose under #Debian12? The volumes I'm mapping to the host always get chowned to 100999:100999, and that's with USERMAP_UID=1000 and USERMAP_GID=1000 in docker-compose.env.

Playing around with PODMAN_USERNS mainly leads to the container not starting at all (in at least one case because it can't install packages).
