The #SinclairQL sound system is really pretty bonkers. Documentation is vague and even the explainers I've found are missing stuff while some others are trying to guess. At least in an emulator one can create quite odd results by giving values which don't follow the guidelines.

What was fun was that one command created sound akin to a tune by #Ø, while adding another parameter resulted in a #noise tune by #PanSonic. Awesome!

Which is ironic considering that their live performance basically looks like, as my friend described it, an engineer intently soldering something. But the audacity of it all, and that sound …. ! And the inexplicable effect it has on people that can’t help but start to move. Brilliant.

Ø & Pan sonic - S​ä​hkö: The Movie Soundtrack (SÄHKÖ-029, Sähkö Recordings, 1995/2018)

The sound recordings for Jimi Tenor's "Sähkö - The Movie" got lost in the mid-1990s. It was only spring 2018 when Warp Records returned all the demo tapes Jimi sent them in the 90s, including the Sähkö soundtrack parts.

Movie directed and conceived by Jimi Tenor in 1995.

Been ages since I last listened to #PanSonic (or really it was still #Panasonic back then) #Vakio. Suddenly had the urge. Still a really unique album. It was funny to notice our #Pikkuhukka started listening intently. So there you have it, #PanSonic is music for cats.
