Very satisfying to do all that detailed mapping at an amenity that is about to be opened (I think). It would have been even better, if the #GoPro had recorded ANY GPS information at all and I could upload it as street-level imagery. You read that right. 20 thousand!
We've also crossed the 100.000 mark on the key 'panoramax', meaning that OSM has more then a hundred-thousand links into the #Panoramax-ecosystem. Most of them (but not all) made with #MapComplete

If you use the main Panoramax instance offered by OpenStreetMap France for uploading photos outside of France, start considering other local instances or create a new one if there's not in your area of interest. The main one is used for test-purposes only outside of France (something you would be aware already), till a local/regional one is created.
Panoramax is decentralized, and all images from all instances can be viewed in https://api.panoramax.xyz/

Had a weird issue with #QGIS loading pics from my trusty but aging Nikon Coolpix, as it would show the correct locations but the attribute table was null-laden. But when I wrote a KML file, #Viking loaded it fine, and showed thumbnails in the right places, from MOMA to Grand Central Terminal to the UN.
First image is the planned points of interest, the second after visiting them and more. Ed.: Both with #OpenStreetMap layers, credits lower right.

Thanks to black MagAIc, I was finally able to create a playground map that contains most of the "features" I would like to have in such a map. Based on #OpenStreetMap data.
ATM it is only fetching data for one city. I am still struggling with performance. Overpass queries are not super fast and can time out often 🙈

Vraiment le coup de la base des limitations de vitesse sur les nationales et départementales ça serait probablement le relevé de terrain le plus simple à faire dans #panoramax, dans le genre #opendata nationale.
Oui, oui, il ne s'agit même pas de TOUTES les routes du pays, ça facilite grandement le décompte.
Ça prendrait littéralement moins de temps de parcourir les routes et de noter les panneaux que le temps écoulé depuis les années qu'on nous promet une base de données ouverte sur le sujet.

L'IGN Annonce la réinvention de la roue en souhaitant fabriquer un socle cartographique commun en dehors des communs déjà existants sur le sujet.

Ne perdons plus de temps à inventer des silos de communs qui existent et ont déjà fait les preuves de leurs avantages et d'une communauté qui s'étend bien au delà des frontières de l'Europe. Cette annonce est d'autant plus stupéfiante que l'#IGN porte le commun numérique #Panoramax.
Ne gaspillons pas d'avantage les fonds publics, réutilisons et contribuons toutes et tous à #OSM.

J'ai des erreurs GPS et une qualité photo faible (en vrai, c'est assez propre)

I've used GoPro Max 360 for some time now to collect open imagery, mostly uploading to Mapillary.
I've tried to keep all the collected imagery locally, in case a more open service appears. While there are various Panoramax instances, there are no global ones or any stable ones for this region (although @one did a great job setting up a test instance).But I ran out of means to store all those images locally, have to delete them now.

Ich habe bei mir nun eine #Dashcam im Auto eingebaut, für vorne und hinten. Ich hätte noch eine dritte Kamera, die normal den Innenraum filmt. Nun bin ich am überlegen, ob ich diese einfach auch nach vorne links oder komplett nach links ausrichte und so montiere.
So hätte ich mehr Bilder, mit denen ich dann zu #OpenStreetMap beitragen könnte.
Verfolgt jemand einen ähnlichen Ansatz? -

I always wanted street-level imagery to be a bigger thing in #OpenStreetMap data. Not 360-degree road images like Street View, but photos of points of interest.
I always felt queasy about #Mapillary because of its proprietary nonsense and that feeling was confirmed when it was sold to Facebook/Meta.
Now the next big thing is #Panoramax and apparently it's FOSS and federated and all.
I'm just wondering how it works. It still relies on a single centralised "meta" instance apparently. That's also the link that we'd add to #OSM data.
If that goes down, is sold, or gets compromised, isn't the whole thing for nothing? If an instance shuts down, does it just take down all data ever contributed? Are photos backed up across all instances? -

J'ai traversé #Morteau hier et aujourd'hui et sachez qu'il y a une route toute neuve avec des ronds-points tout neufs qui ne sont pas encore sur #OSM, si quelqu'un veut bien se dévouer. Je vais bientôt poster des images #Panoramax (grises et moches mais existantes et récentes)

Ooh. There’s an interesting pull request for the #OpenStreetMap iD editor to allow viewing some #WikimediaCommons photos within the editor in a similar manner to street-level photos from #Mapillary, #KartaView, and @panoramax.
