Late last autumn I tested the Speck Gear Mini-Panniers 11.5 L and their Y-Rack. And yesterday I published my review on my Blog. I like them. Nicely made, a rattle free, quick and versatile mounting concept and a sensible compact design. Equally fit for the fork as well as for the rear and being positively out of the way (of your heels, of the head wind, of your thighs and shrubbery when pushing your bike along narrow paths…).

Fast. Aber die Form stimmt auf jeden Fall.
Gutes Auge, vor allen Dinge während der vollen Fahrt. Das war im Schotter-Erde-Gras-Gemisch gar nicht so leicht zu erspähen.Da wird sich jemand sicherlich geägert haben, als die Halterung des Pannier-Systems (?) unterwegs verloren ging. Hauptsache Kabelbinder und Tape waren mit am Start :o)

First decision point: I'M GOING TO BUILD A DIY version of this... Just because.
Purchased a "Bicycle Pannier do it yourself kit" from someone who posted a kit design online/on YouTube channel, and (for some reason) has them listed for a bargain on eBay. (Sellwood Designs). I think they have not been moving these very quickly (how many people are really DIY?) so it's essentially at material cost, so if you're up to DIY yourself a #bike #pannier check this one out....
(straps, grommets, bungee cord, etc. are all going to cost somewhere close to or more than $8.50, and then he's got to pay US shipping --- very fair).

Hey - I gave the new DIY #pannier bag a first trial by fire. I went to the produce shop and picked up
- 5lbs of potatoes
- head of lettuce
- two grapefruit
- bananas
- a large sweet potato
- broccoliIt all made it home over various bumps, and was nicely chilled still when I got back.
Guess I can proceed with making another one.
