Serious question for COVID-serious people: What do you do when people say, "Oh, is COVID still bad where you are? It's over here, everything is fine."
Because... at this point I honestly don't know where to start.

Speaking of the Prisoner of War Manual (as I was a few days ago), when my isolated pandemic life gets untenable, the thought I keep coming back to is "I don't want to be the guy in the camps who gives up the day before the Allies arrive." It's a good touchstone for me in the darkest hours.
Your mileage may vary, of course. If you're in any kind of tough times yourself, I hope you have something that keeps you going, whatever it is.

It's been four years since my last hair cut (in the pre-pandemic world) and I'm reaching the point that I need to cut it myself.
It's all one length, so no layers or bangs to deal with. I want to cut off a foot or more of length to reduce the weight and make it easier to manage.
I've never done this before. (New hermit achievement unlocked!) Can anyone recommend good DIY tutorials? Thank you.

I’m exhausted, overwhelmed, and feeling sorry for myself. It was bound to happen. My sleep hygiene is crap. Several “BIG THINGS” came unstuck and there’s shit to deal with. The lack of practical support is catching up to me. This crappy chassis is no help.

Food in isolation:
Local friends drop off gifts of food for me sometimes, approx 4 or 5 times a year on average.
A friend asked me for a wish list last week, and very kindly stocked me up on pantry items I was running low on.
I asked for one container of a perishable item.
The friend generously brought three.
This is where it gets exciting...

I've not had a haircut since the pandemic started.
At some point I decided to let it grow for the wig people.
Just a few inches until I get the ponytail cut off, send it off to the cancer wig people and get a haircut.

These geraniums are 4 yrs old. Each fall, I bring them inside so they can survive Chicago’s harsh winters. They get a bit leggy, stretching for the sun. Wow. Sanitizing the delivered shopping, rotating the stocks in the pantry and freezers, then portioning and vacuum packaging the bulk meats took me 7 hours (with a couple of short coffee breaks). Admittedly I did also do a deep cleanse of the Kitchen and thorough clean of the refrigerators as part of this, but I'm glad this is an exercise we only do every few weeks... 😓 Thaksful we can get everything we need tho. 🙏 #pandemiclife
