Un estudio internacional liderado por investigadores del CONICET y la UNC y publicado en Nature reconstruyó la historia genética del centro de la Argentina a partir de ADN antiguo. Los autores identifican un linaje profundo y hasta ahora no muestreado en el centro del país que aparece hace ~8.500 años y persiste —con variaciones— hasta tiempos históricos. 5) OBANA
Obana (尾花), a kind of pampas grass, is so-named because the plant ears resemble animal tails. Horses with chestnut coats and white manes/tails are known as 'Obana Kurige' (尾花栗毛).In the language of flowers (花言葉) the grass symbolises vitality and reckless youth.
Displays of obana (susuki) and small pyramids of dango are often seen around 'moon viewing' season (月見), prayers for (and symbols of) a bountiful harvest.

"- #Muñoa’s #Pampas cat, a small wild feline, is endemic to the Pampas grasslands that sprawl over southern Brazil, #Uruguay and northeastern #Argentina.
"- With fewer than 100 individuals left in the wild, experts call Muñoa’s pampas cat one of the most endangered felines in the world and warn it go extinct within 10 years as its natural habitat is cleared for #cropland.
- #Conservation plans to save the species include switching from #monocultures to extensive ranching that preserves the natural #grasslands, creating a #captivebreeding program, and developing a trinational conservation agreement.
