Phew, got the barn tidied up again just in time.
Also found out the exact lifting capacity of our Iseki's three point hitch - 500 kg. With a bit of OSB on top of the cement bags and the weight of the pallet forks (and pallet) I had to use brake steering as the front wheels were lifting and the rear hydraulics hitting relief pressure. Well designed balance! :)
My scrapmetal #PalletFork handled it fine and I got everything inside before the next rain front hit.

Now there’s more to this thing than just the frame. We also need some outer walls. For that I wanted to go with #pallet wood. There’s a place nearby that gives away single use pallets for free in quite large amounts. But I realized I can’t really fit all that many in the trunk. If I do this more often I need a matching bike trailer or something like that (hello next side quest…)

Found 2 20L oil containers in our recycling room and brought them home.
They are perfect to make 2 simple #hydroponic units using 12L units I bought many years ago.Used a #pallet from the street and a few screws and now looking for my solar panels, 12V water pumps and some tubes to put it on the balcony to grow 4x tiny Tim #tomatoes and maybe some #peppers.

Just finished a #woodworking project — a glasses case made from reclaimed #pallet hardwood.
It began as a simple rectangle. I drilled out the centre with a Forstner bit, then shaped the exterior by hand into a rounded form. It’s not perfectly round, which gives it a bit of character I really like.
The fit is snug — no room for the glasses to wiggle. Curious to see how woodmovement might affect that over time. I may need to rework the interior if it tightens up too much. Time will tell.

Recycled pallet bed #2 done.
Some of these planks were wider than the previous, so I had to drag out the table saw to run them through.
Workshop barn is a mess, but we have two beds! Packed away the air mattresses, keeping them for guests.
If you ever have a nail sticking half out that is difficult to pull, hammer it in a little, it'll loosen it up!

After a foggy morning, the sun came out. I made a bed from #Schwiemu's pellet shipping pallets.
Pulling the nails took ages, the rest was some bish bash bosh coarse woodworking (the opposite of fine). Cut a bit, sand a bit, screw a lot. Forgot to bring a square, a box lid had to serve. Slat distance? Three knuckles.
One slat somehow went missing. I'll fix that when I make the second bed, hopefully tomorrow.

1. Give up on taking them apart with crowbars. The nails are spiral and do NOT come out easily.
2. Sawzall is your friend (with a good metal blade).

My travel #pallet is made up of #inktense pans. I like that they mix, remix, and apply like #WaterColor but are permanent once dried on watercolor paper so work in my sketchbooks doesn’t smudge.
