Pangupterus liui was a mysterious #pterosaur that lived in the early Cretaceous of China!
The holotype #fossil only has the long and thin bottom jaw along with most of the teeth!
I’ve reconstructed it here as a gallodactylid pterosaur because from what I can tell, the jaw and teeth look most similar to #pterosaurs like these! 🪮

Melkamter pateko was an early #monofenestratan pterosaur from the Chubut Province of Argentina! The holotype includes part of the #skull, a couple teeth, a few vertebrae, a metacarpal from one of the free fingers, and “other bone fragments”.

Skiphosoura bavarica was a monofenestratan #pterosaur from the #Solnhofen limestone of Germany!
This species helps us understand how #pterosaurs transitioned from the “rhamphorhynchoid” body plan (regular sized head/neck, long tail), to the pterodactyloid body plan (big head, long neck, stumpy tail)!

Paleoartists, beware how you reconstruct claws!
While going back to a CT-scan we worked on, we realized an interesting thing about claws: the shape on the keratin sheath does not follow the shape of the bone underneath.
Thinner under, thicker on top, and points further than bone.

My name is Jun-Hyeok Jang, a South Korean #paleontology student currently studying Early Cretaceous insects (Especially hemipterans) from South Korea.
Beyond the research subject, I am personally interested in the Cretaceous paleofauna of East Asia, geoheritages of South Korea, and #paleoart. I'd also introduce myself as a #paleoartist. I've provided several artworks for papers, lectures, and panels in the museum.
I really want to get more into #paleoart... Any suggestions how to do it? Does anybody need some cheap beginner illustrations? I take 10€ for 1-2 hours work.

Speaking of time, there sure has been a lot of it! How best to convey the idea of #DeepTime? I'm a fan of a good foldout #timeline, myself, and as far as I'm concerned, #paleoartist Clémence Dupont currently reigns queen over all others with her #ABriefHistoryOfLifeOnEarth. It's the largest single time chart I've ever seen, & it's double-sided, too! One side depicts the evolving earth and biosphere, while the other side has a proportional depiction of the various #eons!

I hail from #novascotia , Canada and now live in #saintjohn , #newbrunswick , Canada -- my family has deep roots here. I'm a corporate trainer by day; a #documentary #filmmaker , #photographer , and #paleoartist by night. I made a documentary about one of Canada's first #fossils while living on #PEI, a 360 #VR doc' about shallow water shipwrecks, and now I'm gearing up for one about #prehistoric #sharks. The world of Ciro and Tito
There are some dinosaur fossil records from Aptian-Albian rocks of Italy, including #Scipionyx nicknamed 'Ciro' and the unnamed titanosaur nicknamed 'Tito'.
The research from 2021 suggests Scipionyx may represents juvenile individual of Carcharodontosaurid. I followed that paper while drawing the 2nd image, and eventually reconstructed Scipionyx as carcharodontosaur.
These artworks show my significant improvement in 2 years.

My 4 selected artworks representing South Korean fossil records. Some older drawings look bad but I improved a lot. There are not so much active paleoartists in Korea, but I made a discord community this spring and it is quite active. My goal is, making a book about reconstruction of South Korean fossil records.
