@elduvelle snakes do not use legs for walkies :) modern snakes in general do not have legs but pythons and boas (considered to be basal snakes) do have vestigial hind legs/limbs. From what I gathered, the vestigial hind limbs are used to aid in mating and holding onto tree branches
