  1. Dear #EGU25 attendees, please consider going along to our session, "CL1.2.12 Understanding carbon cycle – climate interactions during the Quaternary through the study of oceanic circulation, vegetation, and wildfire", which is taking place on Friday.

  6. I'm very pleased to be co-convening this proposed session at #EGU25 with @Geo_Juv and others - "CL1.2.12
Using proxy data, observations, and modeling to understand vegetation-wildfire-climate interactions during the past, present, and future." We look forward to your submissions, and catching up in Vienna!

  7. Box of rocks arrived for me today 😍 we will be taking these beauties to the Aus Synchrotron next month to get an idea if they might be suitable for #palaeofire research. Happily, these were collected by a friend of mine for her PhD, which means a potential collaboration with a friend (yay!), and the reuse of old samples rather than collecting new (double yay!).

  8. If you are interested in the chemical tracers of wildfires, and how those might vary with burn severity, check out our new #preprint authorea.com/doi/full/10.22541

We leached wildfire ashes and soils from karst areas, so we can better understand the speleothem palaeofire proxy signal. Another team effort, with co-authors from #UNSW (👋 @Andbaker) #ANSTO, #UWA, and #GNSScience

  9. The good folk at ANSTO did a nice summary of our speleothem palaeofire project over on Insta! Apparently, they did it last May, and I totally missed it 🤦🏻‍♀️

  10. We were very kindly invited to write a communication piece for #AGUPubs Eos magazine, to go along with our recent review paper. If you'd like a quick overview on using #speleothems for #palaeofire research, look no further!

  11. Our @unsw / #ANSTO team is presenting at #EGU23 today! We're in session BG1.2, poster Hall A, from 2pm until the coffee break. Come and find as at A.191, A.202 and A.203 to see what we've been up to in the #speleothem #palaeofire world.

  12. Woohoo it's paper publishing day! So pleased to have this article out in the light of day, and published #OpenAccess in Reviews of Geophysics. We give you everything we know about #speleothems as #palaeofire archives, including tips on sample and site selection, and appropriate methods. We then sweeten the deal with four case studies.

This one was a huge team effort, and could not have been written without the involvement of all the co-authors (👋 @Andbaker).
