#RENFE 🇪🇸 269-902 is seen here working the #Gijón portion of a daytime #Talgo originating in #Barcelona and composed of #TalgoIII stock. These cars were built in the 1960s. «#Pajares es carretera, pero también es tren. Si el argayón del #Huerna está sirviendo para revivir aquellos viajes con paradas y el ojo puesto en la temperatura del motor o la nariz en el olor a freno quemado, la apertura de la variante y la llegada del AVE nos hace olvidar muy rápido esos viajes en el “transpajariano”.
»Si el tiempo os lo permite, id por el puertu. Es una especie de elogio a la lentitud, pero nos regala mucha belleza.»

Si vais a viajar a la meseta o a #asturias MUCHÍSIMA PRECAUCIÓN.
Ahora mismo está cortada la #autovía del #Huerna debido a un impresionante #argayo tras ceder un talud y hay desvíos, en ambas direcciones, por el #Puerto de #Pajares.
Las condiciones climatológicas no son las más adecuadas (había previsión de nieve en la cordillera), así que mucho cuidao.
Personalmente añadiría que no te desplazes salvo que tengas la obligación o te sea imprescindible.

While there is no news yet about the announced Alvia service from/to #Avilés 🇪🇸, tomorrow a new bus shuttle service "Lanzadera Alta Velocidad" will be introduced, smiliar to FrecciaLink in Italy. A second line runs to #PolaDeLaviana via #ElEntrego.

Two additional train pairs are announced on the new #Pajares tunnel line between #Léon 🇪🇸 and #Oviedo running from 31 March 2024, about four months after the opening.
The new services consist of a first Avlo train pair between Madrid and Gijón as well as a new Alvia from/to the city of #Avilés that will get part of the long distance train network for the first time.

Good news from Asturia: the legacy route over the Rampa de #Pajares _keeps_ its passenger service! As shown in the example in the screenshot for December, the single daily regional train will keep serving the stations along the ramp. Meanwhile the new four high-speed services through the tunnel that opens on November 30th after decennia draw attention as expected, 32000 tickets have been sold within the first 24 hours.

The new #Pajares railway tunnel is expected to be opened in November this year. Though the new timetables are not yet published, a test run of a Series 130 train indicates that a direct Alvia/AVE service between Madrid and #Avilés could be introduced. The city is currently only served by Cercanías trains, but one of the platforms got extended during summer so that a Patito train set can stop there now.

Since 18 May the full service is operated again on the #Pajares 🇪🇸 railway line between #Gijón and #León.

Attention to all who want to travel the last time on the #Pajares line during these days: Train services between #León and #Gijón are currently replaced by buses until 17 May due to - and this is true - <<construction works>> 🙈
The works include the replacement of 1500 railroad ties on the ramp. Reminder: the ramp section might be closed in summer forever.
Whatever this means now...

#Streckensammeln|de aus allen Ländern scheinen derzeit die Gegend um den #Pajares-Pass aufzusuchen. Die Anzahl an Tröts und Tweets aus dieser Gegend ist in meiner Timeline in den letzten Tagen jedenfalls sprunghaft gestiegen. Allein heute müssten sich mindestens 2 davon auf halber Strecke begegnet sein. 😁
