Do any of you #musicians out there have stories about switching from one brand of gear to another and then regretting that decision? E.g., I recently bought some #Paiste cymbals only to realize that I prefer the #Zildjian cymbals I've played pretty much my whole life. Thank heavens I hadn't sold my Zildjians! 🥁 #musicproduction

Situation:
I've played #Zildjian cymbals for close to 40 years and only now got the nerve to puck up a set of #Paiste cymbals.
I've been playing them.
They're really cool.
But this switch is a super (not musically) funky experience.
Everything is way different.
I'm thinking that if I were a guitarist it would be like moving from a trusty Strat or Tele to a Flying V or a Jackson?
Does that make sense?

My #drums #setup:
Vintage (1985) Tama Superstar kit in super maple lacquer, sizes 10", 12", 14", 16" & 22".
Silverstar suspension tom mounts, StarClassic double tom holder, plastic washers under tension rods.
Bass drum with Evans clear GMAD and frosted EQ3 reso.
All toms Evans coated G2 batter, reso's clear G1's on 10" and 12", Genera Resonant clear on 14" and 16".
Gretch Purewood Hickory 14" Snare with Evans coated G2 batter.

#drummers of mastodon, what hats are you all playing these days? Anyone using 15s (or higher) after playing 14s for a while?

I have two sets up now, my main hats and favorite sounding ones are the Paiste Crunch hats. If you notice my particular non-standard config I’ll be impressed! My other set are Zildjian A New Beats configured as auxiliary hats in a fixed position on the other side of my kit.
