  6. 🧑‍💻👩‍💻 No More Lonely Coding!

The wait is over. We just launched the Pair Programming section on #w3Develops! 🚀

Find a partner and learn together. 2 heads are better than 1 (and way more fun).

  11. I'm writing an article and would like to verify a gut feeling.

Have you personal experience with using vibe coding (heavily automated development) in group settings, e.g. pairing or mobbing?

My gut is telling me we're moving away from that because we feel the computer is a fine pair, and generally people wouldn't pair where one person is prompting and then they both review output. But please let me know if I'm wrong.

  12. Scientific research discovered that human brains “sync up” when we collaborate. Co-creation patterns in software development do really work. These new findings add to the existing pile of research that others like Laurie Williams have already done regarding pair / ensemble programming.

  17. More fun with #AIs: This time, I wanted two AIs to do ping-pong #PairProgramming together. Some parts were impressive, but other parts pretty disappointing - Like, they forgot parts of even simple instructions.

  18. 🤖 Using AI while coding? Think again.

🖥️ A study conducted by Prof. Dr Sven Apel and his team shows that, compared to human partners, developers working with AI assistants approach code less critically and experience less knowledge transfer.

  19. I'm pretty happy with the how the content of my new video about #PairProgramming and #KnowledgeTransfer turned out, end even the filming and editing is - while not great - OK for me.

Which is a bad omen: The more I'm happy with a video, the worse it performs 🤣

Here it is anyway, in case you are interested: videos.devteams.at/w/2BKu8TDU9

  20. Finally I can run #DaVinciResolve again - Now in a @fedora 42 distrobox. That may be the better solution anyway.

This week, I have two videos that I could release if I manage to finish them: One more where I play around with #AI and one where I talk about #PairProgramming

Let's see whether I can release both 😀

  21. New Video from #TheEngineeringCoach!

Want to reduce bugs and get instant code review? My colleague Andrea Laforgia and I dive deep into Pair Programming.

We demonstrate Ping Pong TDD: the highly effective technique where the driver and navigator roles strictly rotate with the Red, Green, Refactor cycle. It's the ultimate guide for any engineer looking to boost collaboration and code quality immediately.

  22. 0 days since hearing someone say "pair programming is not enough, a pull request has to be made anyway so someone fresh can review the code!"

PR is waste. PR is too late. PR is too little. Reviews after the fact are fine, but should not be blocking, unless someone worked solo. "Fresh eyes" is a fallacy and mostly offers nothing else than manual nitpicks.
