There were 3D printed Marvin cupcake toppers at @suvidu's and @Tobi_k's garden party (I thought it was sugar and took a bite. Mistake).
I took my little guy home, gave him a base and painted him.

Not his canonically colours, of course. 😊

Mixed everything I wanted. NMM, OSL, shifter paint... Just a wild ride! 😁

First test of my cheapo Airbrush.
Zenithaled the Mimic. Paint was way too thin, but the brush behaved okay.
But! Nearly impossible to clean, because it's so cheaply build, all the plastic parts are kind of wonky and all the metal parts need violence to part from each other and to reassemble.
I will use it as a learning experience, though, until it won't reassemble again. 😊

This is the funniest reverse pink tax ever!
This cheapo Airbrush set is available in pink or black. It's identical except for the colour.
But the pink one is five Euro less and comes in a box labeled "Beauty Airbrush Set".
Of course I took the pink one. 🐙😁

I tried drilling barrels for the first time.
@suvidu, master handywoman she is, showed me how to do it yesterday, and today I drilled four bolters, one a storm bolter, and only ruined one (kinda, I think I can fix it with paint).

I am not drilling all the way down to avoid accidents. Just enough to have a hole.

Still a lot of practice needed to get it centred, but I am happily making progress.

I started on this month's Mini of the Month, Karl the khornite Cultist.
He gets a kind of Tim Burtonesque base and I am still thinking about a maximum reduced colour scheme.

I am still not back to form, so I can't paint longer sessions, else I will lose concentration and my hands are starting to shake.
Still - had fun! Metals and some experimenting with taking up the pink colour of the ritual circle from his base. 😊

I painted this month's miniature of the month and tried letting him wade through some bloody water.

A friend said he looks like he just ate a lot of Drukhari and I have to agree. That's a very Dark Eldar colour scheme!

I took the day off today to go to the Kurpfälzisches Museum with @suvidu
Because there is an exhibition on forgery in art.

But I still got up at five to start working on them a bit.
As one does!

Those two old men will be so much more difficult to paint than anything I did before combined!

Paul from the GW shop gave me the tip of using the massage gun on paints that tend to form heavy deposits quickly (I'm looking at you, Soulblight Grey!) instead of shaking them by hand forever.

And what can I say: 100% success!

I think I'm getting somewhere with my painting process. Especially with Vulkan's sons.
I like the sharp contrast and how well they take to coloured light.

These three guys are number 38, 39 and 40 of my miniature painting journey. other people paint 40 minis a week, I take a bit longer. Maybe I'll get there someday.

I think I'll never be a follower of a very clean painting style. I like my stuff messy.

I am in awe of anyone able to pull off the "smooth like a baby's behind"-painting style, though! Those people have their lives together, I guess.

On the other hand: I'm such a noob. Maybe this will change? Who knows! My 2D-style is very flexible, too and is constantly developing.

I can't thank the friend ( @Ladymirdan ) enough, who told me time and again to "trust the process" with miniature painting. That things will come together.

That's such a hard lesson for me to learn! Yesterday I was nearly at the point of stripping my Raptor again, but I set him aside, took some time off of painting him, finished Icalamander .. and now I'm having fun with him again! 😊

The last two Fellgor are done! My Kill Team is ready to wreak havoc. 😊
I like how the gradient on the shield turned out. And the colour of the cloth parts. And the psyker eyes.

I really enjoyed painting them and I learned a lot. Especially how I want to develop my own handwriting in miniature painting moving forward.

I have so much to learn! Very exciting.
