Its not unlike Copart for humans but with a much more critical timescale (hence continued use of pagers for so long), and same as mechanics select what parts they need to fix up a car medical professionals decide using their expert knowledge what are suitable donor parts for humans, the /patient/ doesn't pick the bits they want..

Just thinking to myself today what if the Lilygo made a pager that could do SMS messages over a SIM? Then I could have regular folks send me messages from their phones. Not bothered about 2 way. sooo this weekend I finally flashed #Meshtastic onto the #pager 🙌

HOT TIP, when they say "check that your cable isn't power-only", THERE'S A REASON THEY SAY THAT. if it doesn't work, check your cable.. swap it out.. try a different one... Ask me how I know 🙃

Anyway, once that was done, I was shocked to find that I was able to see 4-8 nodes online at any given point!

There's still SO much I don't know, but this is a fun little starter device IMHO.

Funnily, there's no maintained #pager written in #Rust.

I'm not sure what this signal is, it looks and sounds like a pager, but it never decodes. SDRAngel can only do POCSAG so maybe it's a different protocol. It constantly pulses about every second like an identifier and then occasionally sends a longer message.
