  1. CW: “This Oregon Coastal Spot Tourists Ruined”

Cape Kiwanda was once my quiet refuge on the Oregon coast

These days, it barely feels like the same spot.

Watching a place this beautiful get loved to death hurts more than I expected.

visitors seem to think the rules don’t apply to them, that their Instagram photo is worth risking their life.

Local surfers have largely abandoned the main breaks during tourist season …

With the extensive body-modification technology of the time, hardcore fans who like the idea of a different anatomy will literally be able to become these fantastical creatures. I've already written about that though.

What is interesting to me at this moment, as I consider what sort of stadiums to eventually add to my VR world based on #Modders ("Nuki's Nightclub", AKA #PacificCity), I am wondering what the inevitable semi-underground fighting leagues will look like, where people who've been turned into Pokemon, Digimon, etc use barely-legal abilities to hold full-contact fights and what would basically be MMA cage fighting with monsters.

Like imagine sitting in the audience of some real life underground pit fighting thing, and there's a Pokemon and a Digimon beating the shit out of each other, knowing that a chunk of what they are doing would be against official league rules if this were a real tournament.
