Nel dicembre 2024, una missione archeologica congiunta egiziano-spagnola, diretta dall’Università di Barcellona, ha fatto una scoperta sensazionale nell’area dell’odierna Al-Bahnasa, l’antica Oxyrhynchus, in Egitto. Qui, in un complesso di tombe scavate nella roccia, sono emerse 52 mummie, di cui 13 adornate con lingue d’oro e alcune con unghie dorate. Ad annunciare la scoperta, così come quella recentissima della presunta tomba del faraone Thutmose II, il Ministero del Turismo e delle Antichità egiziano, che ha sottolineato l’importanza di questi straordinari reperti per comprendere le pratiche religiose dell’antico Egitto…
