  3. Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy, is at it again.

First, it was madated Return-To-Office full-time. The corporate order was for all employees to go to AN office full-time.

His new order has him commanding employees go to specific offices, full-time.

  4. @bcantrill following up on your musing on a recent #OxideAndFriends about Bob Noyce biographies: I cannot recommend Leslie Berlin’s "The Man Behind the Microchip" strongly enough.

  5. While last week's #OxideAndFriends was about #CockroachDB's license change, a very large part of it was @dap and @bcantrill discussing the pain that can be felt by choosing software based on community sentiment rather than thorough testing. The point is driven home in a discussion of using #Postgres beyond its design limits. This is mostly in the first half of the episode.

  6. @oxidecomputer when is the episode on crucible happening?

  7. (it's always a thread)

today I listened to #oxideandfriends 2023-05-30 episode on open source governance. great listen: oxide.computer/podcasts/oxide- ... there's always more to learn, esp. on this topic.

a talk is mentioned and recommended by @bcantrill but missing from show notes my app showed: youtu.be/EaHs2tmiU9U ... no notes on that, just a lot of introspection to be done I guess for me. I do recommend watching the talk as well.

  8. I have a trip coming up that will have at least 32 hours of driving. I may need to take the scenic route to get through the best suggestions from recent episode.
