  1. New post: Education

The Shakespeare Oxford Fellowship (US organisation) is providing Oxfordian resources to American high school English teachers. Free lesson plans and more are linked. I presume these would also be useful to non-US teachers, at least generally.

I spend a few moments atop my educational soapbox, then Pearl Jam plays at the end.

  2. The 4th Duke of Norfolk's execution warrant, the tangent post to 'Commiserating With Mary'. Part of this reads like the Brave Sir Robin song in Holy Grail. A traitor's death at Tyburn was no fun, though in the end Tom was spared that end.

  8. I wrote lyrics at the end of this 2018 post which I *still* have not heard recorded by two someones who can sing them in character for me. Consider this a request for any assistance in finding such a pair of tuneful goons.

  14. I updated an old poem by Ovid that I first translated when I was a teenager (don’t let Uncle Arthur fool you). It’s at a bunch of Amazons, with links and details in the blog post. So new the ink's still wet.

  17. Happy 510th Birthday to Sir Thomas Smith, the brilliant scholar, statesman, diplomat, and educator. It is no exaggeration to say that Shake-Speare would not have existed without him. I will have more to say about Sir Thomas, soon.

  19. Wasn't expecting to have another post ready this year, but these birds were making too much noise, I had to shut them up so I could concentrate. Presumably the last post for 2023. Next year though, stay tuned.

    On this date in Fifty-Four
Jane Grey’s head fell to the floor
    Husband’s head had fallen first

  32. So I was having cocktails with a friend and some of his friends…
    His Friend: So I understand #Shakespeare wasn’t Shakespeare…
My Friend (frantically waving arms): No, stop!
Me (eyes turning Terminator red): What?!
    My Friend: It’s too late!
His Friend: We don’t have to get into….
Me: No. You have chosen and chosen poorly. We are committed to the path though it take these next 2 hours.
    (And, dear reader, it did.)

  36. Working long hours on an offline project that leaves little time for engaging with the Fediverse. The archives will have to do for short-term content. Such as (to be read with extra irony given my family history):

    Such a villain you see
That to this day the tag does still stick on

  41. To my first lovely followers (gratitude), and others: I haven't said much yet but please don't give up on me. This platform is (for me) a new-strung piano needing tuned for the first time. Worth the effort but requires a lot of attention, and offline is very busy these days so I don't have the time to put in yet. Getting here was the first step, the rest will follow as soon as it can. My blog's there to read in the meantime. #Thanks #VeroNihilVerius #Shakespeare #Oxfordian #ShakespeareAuthorship

  42. Greetings all. I delayed my #introduction because I wanted to look around at least a small portion of Mastodonia before adding to the signal or the noise.

Thank you @wild1145 and @Fyrsta (and any others) for enabling this safe harbour in the storm. Enjoy the coffee.

Shortly I'll put my #Oxfordian alter ego's ugly hat back on and continue my/his take on #Shakespeare #Authorship. In the meantime, call me Ned. Glad to be here.
