In late January, I wrote a history of Owney the mail-dog. From 1889-1898, Owney accompanied U.S. mail on trains traveling across the United States (and on a few boats abroad) - before returning to his home at the Albany Post Office. Story includes links to more detailed materials and photos of Owney.
