I see a lot of activism on fedi that is more likely to backfire by how confronting it is, or 'sacrifices' it demands in the call-to-participation (a call to conformance), or it has become more performative for an in-group of peers, echo chamber activism. Many anti-patterns come into play, most prominently the purity spiral.
