oh boy. with #postpass & #OverpassUltra I can generate heatmaps directly from OSM data.

I have chased down locations of ~350 ballot drop boxes in Colorado. Each of these was located using aerial and street side imagery in conjunction with lists from county governments.
The ones in red circles are my best guess and there are many more that are simply missing. Happy to work with folks to get the rest added or corrections made.

can work with much larger areas compared to the original.It also features "live mode" , that lets you query data while you pan & zoom, rather than re-running your query.
Its developer, Daniel Schep describes it as a reimagined Overpass Turbo.
