Hab hier zwei #overpassTurbo Abfragen erstellt für natural=beach und leisure=beach_resort jeweilis mit dog=yes für das Land Kroatien. Ganze 31 finden sich dort. Das ganze noch Visualisiert auf einer uMap. Entweder gibt es noch viel zu tun auf Openstreetmap oder meine Abfragen sind irgendwie fehlerhaft bzw ich hab irgendwas vergessen.

I’m traveling at the moment so i often find myself pulling my laptop out on the train where internet is patchy.
So I’ve found myself setting up more stuff to work locally.
Thats how I found myself trying to compile and run a local copy of the Overpass API for querying open street map data… on a Mac. I’m typing this on my phone from memory so will provide references and corrections later when back at my laptop. #OSM #overpass #overpassturbo #overpassapi #openstreetmap

TIL Es scheint mit #OverpassTurbo gar nicht möglich zu sein, einen Kreis mit einem Radius um 1 km um gefundene Objekte zu zeichnen. Man kann nur einen Kreis mit einem Radius in Pixeln "zeichnen", die man irgendwie in Meter umrechnen muss (ist von der OSM-Zoomstufe und vom Breitengrad abhängig)

Is there a way to take a gpx with lots of separate, small tracks in it, and convert those tracks into separate POIs instead?

I've done a search in Overpass Turbo for farmyards. They are marked in OSM as areas, so if I search for nodes I get 0 results. I have to search for ways, but they get exported as tracks. And I just want a gpx with them as POIs.

Can I convert this, so I go from a gpx with lots of lines to just one point pr separate track?

Habs perfekt hinbekommen:
Es braucht eine Liste der PLZ (die ich schon hatte). Für jede PLZ habe ich den Ausdruck / eine Zeile gebaut für #OverpassTurbo :
rel[postal_code="80331"];out geom;

Alle zusammen ausführen, und als geojson exportieren.
In #uMap wieder importieren und den Style etwas anpassen, fertig.

Latest #Ramblers magazine has an item on the number of stiles on #PublicRightsOfWay in England and Wales. They used #FreedomofInformation requests, presumably from each Highway Authority, for the data. Grand total comes to around 140,000, or around 1 per mile of PRoW.

#OpenStreetMap has just over 82,000 as of today (#OverpassTurbo query: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/2cFH). Not all of these will be on public rights of way, but between 50 and 60% of the total isn't bad. (Wales only represents ~5-6%).

I think one of the reasons that I've been doing this (subconsciously) is to avoid burnout on larger mapping projects that I have an interest in (like my project to map my home town in#SouthAfrica).

More recently, I came across an OSM Diary that showed how many street names in OpenStreetMap don't have `name:ga` in #ireland (which I found very interesting). So now I've got an #OverpassTurbo query setup to check for this so that I can add places when I'm in the area.

@richlv The #OverpassTurbo has very helpful examples; I used the "find duplicate nodes" and now trying the "nodes not in a relationship."

First, needed 2 regions as #Baltimore has an unusual governing split between the City and the County. Example used Bonn as the area. My version:

A solid 24-hour sprint later -- I had to wrangle data from tables in PDFs to get a solid baseline to work with (#csv here: https://pastebin.com/JGLxQMbT) -- and I've got all of the polling stations for tomorrow's #election in Tarrant county mapped out in #osm #OpenStreetMap :D

I experimented a bit within the polling_station:* namespace. Thinking I might be settling into a pattern, at least for #Texas. I dunno if I want to build up explicit relations between polling places and their (typical) associated buildings/areas or not. So for now, I chucked the relation data in a tag instead.

Ideally, future elections won't be such a pain to get bootstrapped; most polling stations tend to stay the same across elections.

Ich bin gerade in #BadHersfeld und ich glaube, ich habe noch nie eine Stadt mit so vielen Optikern gesehen. Die gibt es hier wirklich an jeder Ecke!

Kurz mal in #overpassturbo nachgesehen, wie schlimn die Plage ist, und siehe da: der findet nur sieben. Das hätte ich anders erwartet. Ich schätze, da fehlen einfach einige in #Openstreetmap oder sind irgendwie anders eingetragen. Da werde ich beim nächsten Spaziergang mal drauf achten (und mitzählen!).

Trying to export some data from #OverpassTurbo. But it will only export nodes, not ways. I've tried both gpx and geojson. I can't see any settings/options for selecting what kind of data to export. Help?

So far, I only have locations that serve (at least) as early voting centers. There are several more pages of day-of voting centers that I could conceivably add. I'm debating building a small, static, mobile website with #Leaflet to perhaps make a "show me my closest voting station" feature, and maybe a "schedule my voting time" feature that spits out an ical file or something. The opening hours are all there in the OSM data.

(Annoying sidenote: most college/university locations are either early vote only, election day only, or not open at all :()
