Cyclo-cross d’Overijse 2025 : les photos de la 2e manche du Superprestige

La « mère de tous les cyclo-cross » n’a une nouvelle fois pas déçu par son tracé exigeant, fait de montées raides et de tranchées boueuses qui peuvent bousculer le cours d’une course. Demandez à la Néerlandaise Lucinda Brand (Baloise Glowi Lions), en course pour une troisième couronne dans la cité des Raisins, avant de voir son espoir s’effondrer au détour d’un virage trop rapide. L’Italienne Sara Casasola (Crelan-Corendon) n’avait plus qu’à tenir sur ses pédales dans ce dernier tour à toute vitesse pour aller conquérir le premier succès de sa carrière sur un Superprestige, devenant la première représentante de son pays à briller sur une telle compétition.

Le Belge Michael Vanthourenhout (Pauwels Sauzen-Altez Industriebouw) a également dû s’employer dans les deux derniers tours pour user le Néerlandais Pim Ronhaar (Baloise Glowi Lions) et le forcer à quelques erreurs techniques qui lui ont permis d’aller chercher un troisième bouquet en moins d’un mois. Déjà vainqueur à Ruddervoorde, le coureur de 31 ans réalise ainsi l’un de ses meilleurs démarrages de saison, mais voit bien que la concurrence n’est pas loin.

The men's race was fantastic!

That recovery from the start by Pidcock was outstanding, and while he looked a bit rusty yesterday you wouldn't have known today. Perhaps pushing a bit harder than he needed to in those final few laps cost him the win?

Vanthourenhout though was well worth the win, if he hadn't taken that little fall himself I think he had Pidcock in trouble.

1,2,3 for the young Dutch women yet again, though this time it was Puck's turn to take the win and she looked by far the strongest on that course from the very start.

Brand recovered very strongly which will be interesting going forward to see if she can challenge the young guns.

Van Alphen looked very good, especially on the descents.
