PRONOM’s dustiest records

Tyler’s recent blog post for the PRONOM Hack-a-thon Week 2024 (my previous for this week), brought up an interesting point about two of PRONOM’s oldest outline records, Real Video Clip (fmt/204) and Real Video (x-fmt/277). How did they end up in PRONOM?

I assume PRONOM originally added these based on MIME types available.

I thought I knew the answer, but it prompted a forensic look at the records to see if what I thought I knew aligned with reality!

@eldon Thanks for the introduction! I strongly agree regarding the multidimensionality! Persistently good #CX across channels and services is a continuous challenge for the whole organization. From a managerial point of view, maturity frameworks can inform and guide the initiative towards a holistic approach. IMHO, the hard part is to do the cultural and structural groundwork needed to transform siloed factions in the organization into a customer- and product-centric whole. #outsidein

One more and I promise I'm done: if you like #STDS9 #DeepSpace9 #Babylon5 or #DoctorWho (esp classic) and #writing A good friend is still looking for #writers for upcoming volumes of #OutsideIn from ATB Publishing. Not a paying gig (it's for charity) but lots of fun. One author per episode of an entire series, a lot of leeway on how you want to present it, esp looking for #women, #lgbtqia and #bipoc voices.
