There was a plan to have a Babylon 5 episode be a sequel to an Outer Limits episode from 1964, with the main character coming to the station. The writer of that Outer Limits episode worked on Babylon 5, and both him and JMS clearly stated that both wanted it to be done but it never happened -

I suddenly feel dumb. After having seen the original Outer Limits episode O.B.I.T. from 1963 many times, probably first around 1975, and it being one of my favorites, it took me until now to realize that the eponymous device, the Outer Band Individuated Teletracer, was retconned for an abbreviation for obituary.

Ich habe alle Folgen #OuterLimits (die aus den 90er/00ern) gesehen. Und genauso wirkt auch #TheGorge. Im Prinzip ne Doppelfolge Outer Limits. Mit mehr Budget. Die Story ist gut, wenn es auch hier und da ein paar Lücken gibt und sich das Script manche Dinge arg einfach zu Recht legt.
Ich sag nur Jeep, Stromerzeuger und Cloaker. Ansonsten gute Unterhaltung.Musik ist von Trent Reznor. #NineInchNails. Passt sehr gut.

I always like to binge on a Thanksgiving weekend. I found that there's quite a few Outer Limits episodes on YouTube! I gravitate toward the Outer Limits as it allowed for a longer form, more nuanced story telling. The content also tended to be a bit darker.
One of my favorites is Demon With a Glass Hand - it's based on a short story by Harlan Ellison.

@johnhowesauthor @mjc you can enjoy more than one thing though, surely? I tend towards hard #SciFi for reading (and I read a lot) but also love a good space opera. Very much less keen on fantasy which I’ve been known to describe as ‘wave a magic wand and get yourself out of a plot difficulty’.
But it’s out of the window when it’s film or TV 🤷♀️and a bit part of that is because it was TV particularly that was the gateway, via #TwilightZone, #OuterLimits, #DrWho and yes, of course #StarTrek

After the really great 1st episode of the latest season of #BlackMirror I found episodes 2 and 3 slightly underwhelming. The 3rd one didn't really fit the Black Mirror theme. It felt like one of those #OuterLimits stories (remember that show from the 90s?) where some kind of twist gets telegraphed long in advance (even if you don't know the exact nature of the twist).

The Outer Limits is my personal favourite of the various late 50s/early 60s US TV anthology series.
Second Chance, The Children of Spider County and Moonstone are pretty fair episodes.
The special effects are cheesy in this series but the ideas and the writing are excellent. Good clever well thought-out TV sci-fi.

First pressings of #TheMarketts hit were issued as #OuterLimits (after the TV series). #RodSerling (of all people) sued them for quoting the 4-note motif from #TwilightZone w/o his approval (???) which resulted in change to, um... Out of Limits???🤔
