  1. Provinces failing their their cities on #UrbanWater is something of pastime in #CanadianPolitics. Even so, #DougFord and his minions stand out in their reflexive distrust of expertise and utter lack of interest in actually governing for the public good. Mike Harris and his cronies were close, I suppose. These are simply not serious people. #UrbanWaterFutures #SwimDrinkFish #OurGreatLakes

  2. It's that time of year again 🫣🥶 ...

This year on the shores of #LakeOntario, the winter solstice is at 10:27pm EST on the evening of December 21st. Sunrise on the 22nd is at 7:48am. Let's welcome the sun back after the longest night, as we do: by getting in absurdly cold water!

  3. Honoured to receive the Cliff Lumsdon award from
Solo Swims of Ontario this year, but that was eclipsed by the incredible swimmers recognized at the #SoloSwims Annual awards at Niagara-on-the-Lake, including the extraordinary Elizabeth Fry, who has now completed a marathon swim in each of #OurGreatLakes, Maggie Regan's route-record, and Sean Nuttall's 100km double crossing of #LakeOntario, a fitting honour to the legacy of Canadian #MarathonSwimming legend, Vicki Keith. Great swimming everyone!

  4. In the northern hemisphere the longest night of the year is this coming Wednesday, December 21st. Along the shores of #OurGreatLakes we'll welcome the sun at 7:49am on December 22. In Oakville, Ontario we'll be at #GLOWbeach (Coronation Park), but join in wherever you are! #EmbraceTheCold #WinterSwimming #UrbanSwimming #GreatLakesOpenWater #SolsticeSwim2022
