Jim's parts in Spanish were improvised in S1, right? I wonder if the diary entry was fully improvised by Vico or they translated it.

Knowing that Buttons has been to the gravy basket shines a different light on his S1 tendency to ask strangers if they are phantoms.

I don't remember who said that Stede couldn't have recognised Ed as Blackbeard when they met because according to Pete he had regular eyes, but I think about it every single time.

Stede's passive aggression during the tea party is so subtle, but it's there. Nigel and Stede both know what they're doing, but passive aggression doesn't work with Nigel, who keeps pushing Stede because he's never seen him as a threat (not even when Nigel leaves his friends behind), and that's what causes Stede to resort to violence: in the end, it's the only thing that makes Nigel stop bullying him.

The "Any questions?" scene was improvised as well, right? I think Taika said they kept breaking character because the questions were too funny? (So many bloopers we've been denied...)

Love the mutiny scene. All of them are amazing, but Frenchie is just perfect. Do you think he became that good at sewing because he had to redo the bit Pete stabbed and then the whole flag because of the Badminton thing? Or was he already good at it? Making a cat flag is very difficult, in my opinion.

OMG the wooden boy voice! I don't know why Nathan Foad hates it so much. It's one of my favourite lines.

Although you can notice Nathan Foad scratching his nose during the flag-sewing scene because he was having a strong allergic reaction and didn't tell anyone.

"I used to make dresses with my mother" is such an important bit of improv it makes me cry. I don't think we would have gotten Calypso in season 2 without it! Thank you, Kristian.

Ah, the post-raid speech and the elusive Stede in glasses! They filmed the scenes on deck first and reshot them at the end because the actors are more comfortable by then, but left Stede's bits because those were already perfect, right? Might explain the glasses and why Nathan Foad thinks he's too stiff in this episode. He looks fine to me, though. I don't see anything that feels out of character.
