I'm not going to do a write-up for Otakon 2023 for the blog. I'll probably make mention of it at year's end. The surgery, the stress around it, and six weeks of recovery time just threw me off.

The Friday Idolfest, one of the events at the con I was looking forward to the most! It was so nice chatting with Phoebe, and I met a few other overseas idols like ChiRi Girls and Alex Pinku. I'm looking forward to collab-ing on music with all of you someday! And Phoebe gave me a custom cheki with Grateful Dead-themed doodles :3

I’m Roy Mustang in this photo and always was kmprsssed by full Alphonse armor builds and was fortunate to find such a talented group.
Finding cosplayers from the same show as you is always fun and forms an instant connection. Look forward for more photos!
Finally I hit up the #KPop booth that always has the largest selection of stuff. I was slacking on TWICE albums since last year... so I grabbed all 4 versions of Formula of Love: O+T=<3 album, and 1 version of Ready to Be album.
After grabbing vinyls on Friday, I found some well known #CityPop artists' albums on Saturday. I grabbed 3 Tatsuro Yamashita albums, and 4 Mariya Takeuchi albums.
So time to jump in to my dealers room hauls from #Otakon2023 yesterday. I forgot to post them last night.
I grabbed all the City Hunter anime stuff I could find on Blu-Ray at Discotek, as well as 2 Cat's Eye seasons, and the Miss Machiko collection.
The final day was spent doing everything I didn't get to do yesterday. That included buying anime on blu-ray, taking pictures of people and things that caught my eye, and getting the most out my Wild Bill's soda refills.
We decided not to stay for closing ceremonies. Our group then parted ways with our friend Coast. The road back to Philadelphia has been long because of traffic days. We haven't even passed through Maryland yet. #Otakon2023
Day 2 and day 3 of Otakon are done. I took pictures at a photo shoot, went to the only industry panel that interested me (Discotek), and hung out for a while at a Maryland furmeet. (I'm not a MD fur, nor will I ever be, but it was nice to meet new people.
In the evening my husband and I changed into our steam punk clothes and strolled around the artist alley. A thunderstorm delayed some of our time going to the convention. #Otakon2023

Day 1 of Otakon is done. Getting into the convention center was a much smoother process than last year, even though it was quite busy.
I spent a bunch of time roaming the Dealer's Hall and found a few interesting things. I managed to squeeze in one fan panel. There's not much in the way of industry panels this year.
I also assisted my friend as he went fursuiting around the convention.
Today, I'll wear a costume. Maybe after the few panels I have my eye on. #Otakon2023

Day 0 of Otakon is done. We left Philadelphia at 2, but encountered heavy traffic around the airport. We also had to stop for a stretch break at the Maryland House.
We arrived in Washington, DC around 6:30. Dinner reservations were pushed back to 8, giving us enough time put our bags down. The Washington Renaissance didn't have the double beds we reserved, so we had to upgrade to a suite with a couch bed.
Renovations at this hotel are rushed and it shows. Better than nothing. #Otakon2023
