It would be hard to overstate the impact Os Mutantes, and in particular Rita Lee, had on pop music. That they formed during a brutal military dictatorship in Brazil makes it even more improbable. Here is a 1968 performance of Os Mutantes in front of an audience losing their fucking minds.
